If someone has a soothing and listenable voice, they probably have a well balanced voice tone. Your singing teacher, during a voice lesson can show you how to make different voice tones and help to balance them, if that is what is required. Not all singing teachers have a broad spectrum voice, that is normally through choice. However you can find some singing teachers who will be able to do them all. These voice lessons tend to be fun!
Remember that sometimes, a 'well balanced' voice tone is not necessary what we want especially if we want to portray anger, frustration, fear, or any of the high emotions. The EQ of one note can vary immensley between trebble and bass much like the EQ on your home stereo. When a vocal sound has more trebble, we describe it as being twangy and when a vocal sound has more bass we describe it as dark. Many popular music singers today use a little bit, if not a lot of twang in their vocal tecnique to increase their voices brightness. Singers that use a lot of twang are: Will Young, Kylie, Britney, Anastacia. When you sing with twang your larynx tends to be high and to make the sound, you must tighten your aryepiglottic sphincter. Classical singers tend to use more darker or more 'rounded' voice tones and to achieve this you would need to lower your larynx.
