Singing Freedom, the comprehensive course in
vocal technique, singing lessons, vocal warm ups and much more is presented by singing teacher and course author Sally Garozzo. Sally is an accomplished singer, songwriter, vocal coach and vocalist in her own right. Who is Sally Garozzo? Singing Freedom is a mixture of all the vocal technique I've ever learned that have turned my voice around. I've adapted them from my own vocal coaches and mentors. I am passionate about singing and like many singing teachers I love to teach on a one to one basis, helping students address vocal issues quickly and confidently (but not always willingly!) |
| It was my private students who inspired THE
SINGING FREEDOM SERIES as many of them were coming to me having been brainwashed
into vocal training techniques that were not safe or worse still, ineffective. It's
not my style to do things by halves, so I put together a practice CD combined
with ALL the life changing singing techniques that I teach during private
lessons. I didn't want another boring piano backing either
this is POP MUSIC for goodness sake!!! So, all the exercises are funky and
pop music related. The result?.....THE SINGING FREEDOM SERIES!! I've been singing since the age of about 3. My lovely grandparents took me to Sunday School every week to make sure Jesus wanted me for a sunbeam!! So there, my singing began. Then all through school I would be chosen to sing solo's which I loved, but I always knew that my voice lacked power and I couldn't project my voice very loudly, although it sounded lovely and sweet (not quite good enough for rock music though!). At the age of 17 I joined a semi professional classical choir which gave me a foundation for singing harmonies. This helped me develop my aural (ears) awareness... a very important ability that all singers should have. From the age of 15, I was having private vocal training, but none of my early teachers ever seemed to be able to address the technical and mechanical aspects of singing, which was what I needed to expand my range and develop more volume and power. All we did was sing scales and songs. Deciding to make the transition properly, and further my singing education in 2000, I studied Popular Music Performance at a top school here in London (which is where I'm from) It was no plain sailing. I came up against some real issues. Disappointingly, my voice sounded too sweet with our live bands and there was no way I could pull off rock, blues, funk, soul and RnB and make my mark, you could hardly hear me even with a MIC. I did eventually discover how to sing louder and found my 'chest voice', but then it kept getting stuck and I would have this embarrassing yodel or break, where my voice would crack if I sang above a G, then sound weak again. I got some amazing singing foundations from that place and ended up winning Performer Of The Year. Since graduation, my singing journey started. You know how you only learn to drive with confidence, until you've passed your test???... well that's what it was like for me after leaving rock school. Ever since, I've been on a quest discovering some life changing vocal techniques, which have enabled me to be in rock and pop bands and sing all around the country as a singer. I've put all of these secrets (no more) down in this programme to share with you. I hope you have as much fun following this programme as I have had making it!!! Anything is possible... believe me, I've been there and I've seen it happen to others." Passionate about singing? |
